Pretty in Pink Baby Shower and Diaper Cake

Hello my crafty friends,

Today I am sharing the Pretty in Pink diaper cake for Princess Kennedy’s baby shower, I made with the assistance of my sister Athena.  The diaper cake was made for my God-Daughter Dominique and husband Kenneth.

They are expecting baby girl-Kennedy later this month.  In addition to the diaper cake, my sister and I helped create favors.  My best friend Tawanna (sister/mother-of the Dominique) assembled the centerpieces. All centerpieces were books, toys and photo books for Kennedy.

Dominique’s sisters, God-parents and Kenneth’s parents also took part in the decorations, food preparations and entertainment to help celebrate Kennedy’s expectant arrival.

The color scheme for this bassinet diaper cake was pink, silver and white.

Crazy for Acrylic

Hello my crafty friends,

I am sharing an acrylic mini album I completed from a “Crazy for Acrylic” class at My Creative Classroom.   I made a 4-page 8x8” album using various techniques used on acrylic sheets.

On the cover sheet,  I stamped around the border with StazOn ink.  This is a solvent-based ink, designed for decorating non-porous and semi-porous surfaces, such as metal, shrink plastic, acrylic, cellophane, aluminum foil, leather and some glass surfaces.  StazOn ink cleans up easy with Non-Acetone nail polish remover.  After my ink dried, I used my pearl pen to embellish the border stamp and completed the rest of embellishments with 2- 7x7 pieces of Ella Blue Paper Collection,  tulle, Prima flowers and heart charm.

On the second page, I trimmed a large scallop border on the right side. Next, I added Tim Holtz alcohol ink with glitter around the border.  I placed 7x7 Botanique Paper on the backside of the acrylic and stapled floral ribbon on the front side.

On the third page, I embossed the acrylic sheet with the Cuttlebug Swirls plate and added royal purple StazOn ink over the raised edges.  I finished it with 2- 7x7 pieces of  Botanique Paper Collection and Prima flowers.

The last page using my sewing machine, I made a 1/4 inch straight stitch border around the edge.  I used 2- 7x7 pieces of Spring in Bloom paper collection and added to front and back side of acrylic sheet.  I used lace ribbon, butterfly die and rose die to finish the embellishment.

To close the album, I punched 2-holes through all sheets and bind them with tulle.

Recipe:
8x8 Acrylic sheets
StazOn ink (midnight blue and royal purple)
Ella Blue Paper Collection,
 Botanique Paper Collection
 Spring in Bloom paper collection
 Prima flowers and heart charm
Pearl Pen(Cream)
Spellbinders dies (Rose Creations and Fanciful Flight)

I hope you enjoyed.  If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

Thank You!!!

Hello my crafty friends,

I wanted to share wonderful RAK I received yesterday from my friend  Kenya (also My Gazelle and Me .  I have to say, I have always admired her craftsmanship online, actually seeing it in person is truly an honor.  Ideas are swarming my mind of how I am going to use the beautiful lace pieces, charms and the Cryogen White paper.  I am thinking copics meets mini album, so the memento ink will probably be on overdrive..lol.
I took a closeup picture of the  of the handmade card, Lace and Charms so you can see the beautiful selection Kenya sent me.
Absolutely Beautiful Card!!!

Double Diva's Diaper Bassinet/Cake

Hello my crafty friends

I would like to share with you, Bassinet/Diaper Cakes my sister and I made for my cousins Double Diva’s baby shower for Princess Amaya and Prince Troy.

My sister Athena (Toosie) and I have been busy learning different styles of diaper cakes.  We started these diaper cakes as the three tier cake.  Then I had a big desire “idea” to try the bassinet/stroller cake.  Boy did I underestimate the workload that goes into these.  Through trial and error of rubber bands, velco, double sided tape and the glue gun, we have the technique down.

Again we added extra perks (outfits, customized onsies, baby towels, burp clothes and blanket) in the cake, so I reminded her to open it.
