SST! Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sistas Scrap Too! second blog hop! We had so much fun with our first hop that we decided to do a hop once a quarter. This is the hop for the first quarter of 2011 and we are glad you decided to join us! We have 13 designers working on our theme for this hop, which is none other than Valentine's Day. We've put a twist on it, asking the designers to use the colors red, black, and white in their designs. We can't wait to show you what we've come up with! Some of the Sistas went the traditional route and used traditional colors for their projects. What would craftin' be without creativity and diversity?! We know you'll enjoy what lies ahead on the hop route!!

Remember, start at the beginning of the hop and work your way through each blog. Please leave blog love (comments) along the way and become a follower of the blogs so that you can see the beautiful creations year round and not just when we have a hop! There are Sistas who are offering blog candy and you never know where you'll find some so be sure to visit each participating blog. Thank you for joining us for our 2011 SST! Valentine's Day Blog Hop! We hope you enjoy the creativity...

Hop Line Up

This is my very first blog hop and I am glad cupid came my way early.  As Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, most men prepare for this day with roses, chocolate, dinner, card and maybe an extra treat. I wanted to set the scene by creating a mist clipboard vase with roses, ribbons and a little bling. In addition, I saw this cute crush rose box on the SVGcuts.com forum and thought it would finish off my project. I absolutely love purple and white roses over red, so it it fit my project perfectly.
Craftin Sistahs blog hop

This is how I made the vase:
·         Cut 4 3x6 Trapezoid shape chipboard
·         Cut 1-3x3 Square shape chipboard
·         Sand the edges of the chipboard
·         Next-Mask/Ink the chipboard (I used Inkadinkado Spray Ink –colors Lilac, Rasberry and Royal Blue and Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz-Silver) to  your desired coating, bloat excessive ink and allow it to dry
·         BIA and 4-10 rings Zutter baby pink owire to bind the 4-trapezoid sides
·         Hot glue the square to the bottom of enclosed trapezoids
·         Decorate with embellishments, I use ACMOORE silk roses, MICHAELS Valentines purple/red/pink heart, ribbon and K&Company’s Elegant Swirl
The LOVE sign:
·         ACMOORE wood LOVE  sign
·         Mask/Ink the  sign(I used Inkadinkado Spray Ink –colors Lilac, Rasberry and Royal Blue and Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz-Silver) to  your desired coating, bloat excessive ink and allow it to dry
·         ACMOORE purple pop up hearts
Crush Heart Box:
·         SVGcuts Crush heart box file
·         Purple/Pink/White Cardstock
·         Mask/Ink the  center of the rose(I used Inkadinkado Spray Ink –colors Lilac, Rasberry and Royal Blue and Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz-Silver) to  your desired coating, bloat excessive ink and allow it to dry
·         Roses inked with Memento Lilac/Rosebud inks
